canine and feline microchipping
I'm a fully qualified and insured microchip implanter with many years of experience.
I make this procedure very easy and stressless for your pet. It will be done in my clinic in Desborough unless you have a big litter then we can discuss for me to come to your place. It will also cost you much less than what you would pay at the vet.
I am using the most advanced technology microchips in the smallest size
with super slim- needle 7mm (for cats, rabbits and very small dog breeds)
After your pet is microchipped you will be provided with aftercare instructions.
Once I have microchipped your pet, I will then register your pet/litter on the SmartTrace National Pet database and help with transferring each pet’s details to new owner.
Prices:
£20 per single pet
£15 up to 3 pets
£12 puppies or kittens in the litter (more than 3)
* Travel to your home is extra charge. For travel prices please contact me on the number provided below.
what is a pet microchip?
A microchip is a radio-frequency identification transponder that carries a unique identification number, and is roughly the size of a grain of rice. The microchip is injected under the loose skin between your pet's shoulder blades
IS IT A LEGAL REQUIREMENT TO MICROCHIP YOUR PET?
It is now mandatory throughout the United Kingdom for all dog owners to have their dogs and cats microchipped and recorded with a government compliant microchip database. Breeders, meanwhile, must ensure that puppies and kitten are microchipped and recorded by the time they are eight weeks old and before they are sold.
When a pet is transferred, the new owner’s (keeper’s) details must be added to the database. Moreover, if an owner moves home or changes telephone number, these details should be updated. Failure to keep these details up to date means that, in the eyes of the law, the dog is no longer considered microchipped and a fine can apply.
Rabbits, Ferrets and Other Domestic Pets:

It is not a legal requirement to microchip other domestic pets however, it is strongly recommended by RSPCA that all pet owners get their animals microchipped.
Cat Flap and Microchip:

The microchip cat flap identifies cats using their unique pet identification microchip; unlocking only for your pets and preventing strays and neighbourhood cats from entering your home. The Microchip cat flap does not require any collar or tag to activate it, which could become snagged or lost.
